Where has the time gone?

I can't believe I haven't been on here since January!  That is a very long time for me to be away (and I don't think I've looked at my journal since February).  I've been busy with school and trying to keep my academic high going until May 5th when my last final for the semester is over.  Summer freedom is screaming at me and its voice is getting harder, and harder to ignore the more time goes on.

I really don't have much else to say.  I hope to have more interesting things on here once I find my brain again.  Until then, fare thee well!

New Year, More Goals
puppy
[info]whitmosloski

A new year has begun and this year promises to be just as good as last year.  To start off, I want to recap the memorable things that happened in 2010!

1. My best friends, Adel and Don, got married in May.

2. My family (Mom, Dad, Jessica, Chris, Brittany, Tom, Grandma, and Char) and I went to France and Italy (which I will talk about in a later post).

3. I started school at St. Cloud State University and made the Dean’s list with a 4.0 (I’ve never had one of those before, so I am/was very excited and pleased because I got it in college).

4. I’ve decided to become a science teacher (getting a BS degree in Environmental Science and Science Education) and I want to go to graduate school for a masters and Ph.D.

5. I started four WIP that I am really excited about finishing.

6. I also started creating more craft projects.

Now to start on 2011!  I was thinking, I don’t really like using the word resolution for the new year.  I will be using the word goal instead because goal gives a person more wiggle room to modify said goals.

Here goes the 2011 goals:

1. Finish two WIP projects and fine tune and send out one of said projects.

2. Do the best that I can for spring semester in hopes of getting a 3.5 GPA.

3. Finish sending in all that needs to be sent to the other schools to which I am applying.

4. Crochet more!  Learn to knit.  Bead more.  Finish my current crafty projects,

5. Travel more.

6. Read more.

7. Write a blog post/journal entry a week.

8. Eat healthier by cooking for the family more.

9. Being more active.

10. Writing something every day.

11. Take time to smell the roses.

12. Take more pictures.

13. Learn a new skill.

14. Do my best at my new school during fall semester and to stay at said school for the rest of my bachelors degree.

15. Get out more.

16. Love more.

17. Be happy.

I’m sure there is more and this list will keep going, but that is all I can think of now.  As I write this, I’ve noticed that the word more comes up a lot.  That is because I haven’t really done anything.  Maybe I watch T.V., but that is pretty much it.  This year there will be more of everything other than T.V.

Oh, I thought of two more goals!

18. Not cutting my hair until I graduate from college.

19. Remember to celebrate and get together with the family more.

Well, it certainly has been a while since I added a post here.  It isn't because I've had nothing to say, but because I have been really busy.  College started three weeks ago, I was too lazy during August because I wanted to soak in the laziness, and I was over in Europe.

So, I am going to skip over my Europe trip and my lazy August, but I will talk about SCSU.  Well, I must say that the classes I have elected to keep are very, very, very interesting.  Okay, not really all of my classes are that interesting, but most of them are pretty cool.

Whitney, do you like the campus?

Well, kind of.  I don't mind the walking around and the buildings are pretty neat for not being that old.  I love that it is only an hour and a half away from home, so if I wanted to I could go down to see my family if I wanted to.  I also could commute if I really wanted to.

Okay, so how about your dorm and all that is associated with that area?

The dorm is really not the place for me.  First, though my roommate is a really a really nice girl, we are totally different people.  She likes sleeping during the day and I like sleeping at night.  She likes the total opposite things that I like.  SCSU didn't really do a good job with the roommate search.  Plus the dorms are way too institutional for my liking and I am on a floor with all freshmen kiddos who just got out of high school and are way too into the partying.  That makes me feel old, but whatever.  I am only twenty-two, so I am really not that old.

Oh, I have also decided that I am addicted to the internet or that I may have a problem with procrastination.  I think it may be both.   Bah!

Recap
[info]whitmosloski
Oh man!  July is certainly going by quickly.

I went down to see my grandma for the fourth and I got to see some of my cousins and other family members.  It was an incredibly fun weekend.

My 22 birthday was three days ago.  Let's just say it wasn't one of my favorite birthdays.  It started out okay then I failed my first ever road test.  I was sure I was going to pass right off the bat since I have had six years of practice.  I was very disappointed and sad, but I have made another appointment for the 13.  I want to have my drivers license before our family trip to Europe.  The day did get better which is why it didn't become number one on my worst birthday ever list.

The on the 7th I went over to my best high school friends' house.  It was the first time I got to see Don's and Adel's apartment.  It was the perfect place for a newlywed couple.  Jessie Kemp (another friend from high school) came over because her birthday was on the 4th, so we had a small celebration with just the four of us.  It was great fun, even if my friends don't play Phase 10 by the rules.  (Yes, I am a real stickler when it comes to sticking to the rules).

Now I'm just trying to get all my clothes washed, so I can start packing my suitcase.  I can hardly believe we leave next Sunday for Italy and France.  I am beyond excited.  I can hardly contain my joy.

I have my drivers test coming up on my 22 birthday.  Yes, that may sound strange, but I was never really interested in driving.  It is a big responsibility, one that I don't take lightly.  Many things can go wrong while driving, so it has taken me a while to find the courage and desire to take this test.

So this week is going to be spent doing my 90 degree backup and parallel parking.  The only thing I am looking forward to is that my test is actually being taken on the streets of a small town.

Blech.  I feel like I could throw up.  Not to mention I barely slept a wink last night.

Wow, I haven't written on here in a long time.  It has been super busy 'round the Mosloski Manor.

May 28 was Adel's and Don's wedding.  It was loads of fun even if I got burnt to a crisp from being outside while taking pictures.  I have no idea why I didn't put sunscreen on.  I knew we would be outside for pictures.

Jessica graduated from BHS on June 11, which meant Brittany came from California to be with her sister.  There has been some tension between the two this past week and a half.  Jessica hasn't been spending enough time with Brittany (or so Brittany thinks), but Jessica has a million friends and has been busy going to grad parties and spending time with said friends.  *sigh*

I am slowly getting things ready for the family trip to Italy and France.  I need to find luggage and clothes.  And you know what that means.  SHOPPING!!!

That's all for now.  I must go punch and kick my way to fitness.  Adios.

I was sitting here contemplating the many questions of life.  Okay, no, not really.  I'm trying very hard to ignore my never ending list of things to be done by surfing the net.  I hopped over to my other blog on blogger.

*gasp*  You have another blog?

Yes.  I know what you are thinking.  How can you possibly keep up with two blogs?  Well, I mostly copy and past one entry from one blog to the other.  Sometimes I get creative and post two different posts.

ANYWAY!  While I was wondering around blogger I found this interesting contest: READ YOUR NAME.  I was intrigued.  I slipped over to the website and quickly signed up to be a part.

Here's the deal, I am supposed to read books that spell my name.  SO, the beginning letter of the title of a book will be used to spell out WHITNEY KAYE.  I have a couple books started already, but I need more suggestions.  If you could help me out, I would indebted to you for the rest of my life.

This week is turning out to be nasty.  I should have realized that we'd have no AC during the hottest week of the month.  That being said, I am sitting on my bed with a fan pointed directly at me.  Right now I am comfortable.  Just don't ask me to move.

We are finally getting a new heating and cooling system for the house.  It will be nice to have a cool room in the summer instead of being in Death Valley every night.  We are going GEOTHERMAL!  I'm very excited.  Another step towards being totally green.  Yip to the eee!

I am also trying to patch holes in my room so I can finally paint.  Yes, my room has chicken pox.

I ordered my new bed (I'm getting tired of sleeping on the floor, even if it is cooler).  I'm not sure when it will come.  I'll have to try my best to be patient.

My best high school friends are getting married in THREE DAYS!  A and D have been together since the end of our sophomore year in high school.  That's been almost six years.  I've been waiting for this day for a long time.  I can't wait to be a part of their special day.  I'll be sure to post some pictures the day after the big day.

I've been reading more, writing more, exercising more, eating less, and just being an all around better me.  I'm so proud of myself.  I've been trying to get my butt motivated for a while now and something just clicked in the past few days.

Life Is Crazy

I never would have guessed that this summer would be the busiest summer I have had thus far.

Yesterday I went to my transfer advising day at St. Cloud State University.  It was awesome!  I'm even more excited now than I was when I got my acceptance letter.  I had to be up by 7 a.m. that morning (which was pushing it because, for the past year where I have done nothing but sit on my butt, I've been waking up from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.)  It took two hours to get to the school from the house because we hit rush hour.  I spent three hours listening to different departments speak about what they did and what they offered to the students.  After that was over, all the students there got to head to advisors for their specific major.  I had gone off (with my mom) to find my unofficial advisor and ended up lost.  It was an adventure trying to get back to the building where I needed to go to get my student I.D.  We finally found our way back, got my I.D., and headed back home.

This weekend I get to move all my belongings out of my room so I can disassemble the bed I have had for ten years.  It's being bought by my wonderful aunt.  Who will then end up giving it to my cousin.  I'm excited because I've been daydreaming about getting a new bed for over a year now and I can hardly believe that it is finally happening.  Oh yeah, I need to order it first.  That means I will be sleeping on only a mattress for a few weeks, but that isn't a problem.

It's also Mother's Day this weekend!  I hope everyone shows their mother some love and appreciation, I know I will.

In June my cousin Jessica will graduate from high school.  It's hard to believe she is the last grandchild on my mother's side to graduate.  Anyway, Brittany (Jess's sister) will be coming sometime in the beginning of June for that.  At the end of June, Jess and her mom will be going to Arizona to ASU's new student registration day.  During the time that they are away, my parents are thinking about going to Hawaii with me and my Grandma.  I hope we get to go.  I've never been to Hawaii.

July starts off with Independence day then on the sixth will be my 22nd birthday!  I don't have anything planned for my birthday yet.  If anyone has any suggestions let me know!  On the 18th the family (nine members including myself) will set off for Italy and France (my cousin Jessica's choice.  She wanted a trip instead of a grad party.)  I've been to both places before and I can't wait to go back.  I loved being in Italy especially.

In August I start school again!  On the 23rd to be exact.  I'm a little nervous because this will be the first time I have ever taken a 16 credit load before.

And during the whole summer I will be up to my eyeballs in scholarship applications.  PLEASE LET ME WIN MONEY!!!!!!!

About Bloody Time

It took FOREVER to get my wireless connection to work for my netbook, but I have finally got everything set up!  I am excited and joyous and everything in between.  I can get started on writing and not feel like I will lose everything I've worked on.  Now I can start agonizing over school.

If it isn't one thing it is another.

On Wednesday I head to St. Cloud State for my transfer advising day.  WAHOO!  No, I'm not really that excited because I already know what they are going to talk about.  I've done this two times before.  I just need to go there to get my student I.D. so I can eat and do other things that require an I.D.

I've signed up for 16 credits for the fall semester.  All the classes I am taking are general classes that I need to get done in order to get on to the good stuff.

There are only 27 days left until my best high school friends' wedding!  I should be getting a call any day now from the dress shop.  I can't wait to see my bridesmaid dress.
